Please Login to Remove!

I keep getting call failed messages whenever I call any numbers.

I also tried following but still no luck.
1. remove the battery and SIM card put them back, still no luck
2. changed the SIM card
3. reinstall the OS on hand held.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

thanks!

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

Generally in my experience, call fail is a carrier network problem (busy or too overloaded).

Have you tried contacting your carrier to see if they might be having network issues?

Thank you much for looking into this.

I did check with carrier, its not a provider issue as I did try replacing my BB's SIM card to my wife's phone (she is also having same provider) and it did work without any issues.

Also signal strength is excellent even I can see sometime 4 or 5 network bars. Also I checked free memory in my cell phone and its around 21MB free but I am still facing this issue.

Any other suggestions?

Sounds like it might be a phone issue. Is your device still under warranty?

It might be software related, but it's hard to tell. Did you recently upgrade your OS? If so, was your phone working normally before the upgrade?

I did not upgarde rather I reinstall latest OS for 8100 model.

I had issues before reinstall as well. Even sometime after taking out the battery and SIM card and put it back, it works for 1 or 2 calls but after that it started giving call failed messages for any calls that I do and sometime I am not even able to make first call as well.

Default Try Airtel on your phone.. it will work for sure.

Hi Jayesh,

I had the same problem. However, then I realised that BB supports only 1800 Band while in India all service providers works on 800-1200 band, therefore you're not able to make calls from you BB device.

However, only Airtel supports 1800 Bandwidth.

Another Solution - If you go to any near unlocking shop, they will unlock your BB for just around Rs. 200 and then you can also use Idea, BSNL or Vodafone or any other provider on your BB.

Do let me know if you're still facing the same problem.

BlackBerrys are all quad band. So they support 800, 900, 1800 and 1900.
