Most newbies are not ignored. I find that they are not forum/blackberry savvy and ask questions that could have easily been answered by reading the manual or searching the forum. Usually the answer to most newbies questions are all the same: Pull battery, resend service books, upgrade OS, or get BLACKBERRY data plan.

newbies are not always ignored.. when I was new (still am) I asked a couple questions, that I couldnt find the answers, and my questions were answered but I did do a search before asking, this place has always been friendly and helpfull IMHO, Ive recommended this site to others.

Frankly, I found this forum to be extremely welcoming and helpful when I got my first BlackBerry about 6 months ago...I made sure I used the search tool before hand, and would actually read thread after thread to gain as much knowledge as possible before just throwing out any question. I see it all the time, new posters basically asking for an "Intro to BlackBerry Smartphones class" with 12 straight posts asking the most rudimentary questions...They dont want to take 5 minutes to search. And I'm sure for the seasoned vets on this site, they are sick of repeating the same answer over and over and over...
Just my $0.02...

Chris

I would suggest you read some threads before making unjust attacks.
We're quite a friendly and greatly helpful forum.
Precisely -- I tend to go for the threads with 0 or few replies. The active threads are obviously getting some sort of attention.

Sounds like whining to me. If there's a real problem please post it for us to address.

Newbies aren't respected when they don't search or read the FAQ's. Or post threads like this. If you don't want to remain a newbie then jump in and participate. Crying about it won't help. If you're really having problems with attitude or people not helping then those are real issues. Posting that you have a low post count because you just joined is entirely meaningless IMO. We all started out with 0 posts.

Discussion forums like this exist to support those interested in the item of discussion and to foster general discussion about the item. They're not there for you to deal with your personal issues. If not getting attention is an issue you're dealing with in life then you need to seek appropriate help (i.e. not a Blackberry discussion forum).

Is it really? In general I find that in life respect is earned -- not handed to you. Doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing (job, church, hobby, volunteer service). Show that you deserve respect versus talking about it if it really matters to you.

Most of us are really here just because we're BB enthusiasts. I could care less what my actual post count is. Quality versus quantity. I could post endless nonsense all day to boost my post count but that's not what matters IMO.
