Question Verizon Blackberry sending all calls to voicemail

Please Login to Remove!

(Please forgive me if this has been answered before. I tried several searches.)

I currently use a Blackberry with T-Mobile. I don't use it for voice other than as a pager. Its phone number is on my business card as a "pager." I have my 'berry set to forward all calls directly to voice mail. With this setting, my caller doesn't have to wait for three or four rings to get rolled over to my voice mailbox. Also, my Blackberry never rings with calls. I have other phones that I use for voice.

I am considering replacing my T-Mo 'berry with a 7250 from Verizon. I have several Verizon phones. I have tested call-forwarding on those phones to voicemail, by pressing *72 xxx xxx xxxx SEND (where the x's represent the phone's own number.) However calls to that phone still ring on the phone rather than going directly to voice mail.

Is there a setting on the 7250 to forward all calls to voice mail? Does anyone know of a workaround for Verizon's network?

TIA for any help.

There is a "Do Not Disturb" option in profiles that will do this. Access profiles and edit the applicable one. The last setting under the Phone category is "Do Not Disturb". Changing that to Yes on my VZW 7250 will cause all calls to roll to voice mail without ringing the phone first.

Thanks, zuf!

I went ahead and got a 7250 from Earthlink. "Do Not Disturb" works fine on the Earthlink version too.
