Hi I am new with Bold 9000 from AT T. I have been customer under tmobile with curve. I am so excited to have one because my curve seems very old and hourglass popped all times. Battery is about to die too. I know I can replace it. It is second time already. I thought for a change of time. I always wanted Bold for a year.
I wonder if I need to wipe 4.6 os first before install new 5.0? or jsut go ahead and install it after 4.6? I tried once and I see that 4.6 is still there. I even installed 5.0. I read some article from pocketberry and need to follow the step and get rid of it.
You dont need to uninstall the previous OS. It would be done automagically for you by the installer. You just need to delete the vendor.xml file if you're installing an OS that has not been released by your carrier. The FAQ should be most helpful on the specifics on how to go on about this.
If you're on on BES better consult your BES admin before attempting OS upgrades. If you're on BIS a recent backup is always a good idea (although you're prompted for one during the upgrade anyway)
