Default Transferring Contact Details from Nokia to my new BB 8900

Please Login to Remove!

Dear all,

I need your help here, I have my contacts in my Nokia E70 and I would like to transfer them into my new BB 8800. I know you will say sync them with outlook then using BB desktop manger to sync them with my new BB but the problem which I have is that I have a lot of my contacts have for example two or three mobile numbers and when I sync them with outlook, outlook will take only one mobile number and will ignore the rest so I need another solution for this issue.

Can anyone help me on this matter?

Thanks.

Sounds like your issue is a mismatch between the contact fields on the nokia and the blackberry. On the blackberry, you have two work and two home numbers, and one each mobile number. Maybe you'll want to put the additional numbers in the user fields on the blackberry.

Anyway, another option, perhaps, is to use the switch device wizard in desktop manger, if it is compatible with the nokia. But I still think you have the field mismatch issue to resolve no matter what you do.

Actually, Phone fields in my bb are work, work 2, home, home 2, mobile, pager, fax, and other. Also, Outlook (I use 2007) has only one mobile number as well so you might have trouble just synching to Outlook. What I would do is to change the second mobile number to Other. (And this is what I do for my contacts who have more than one cell phone.)

Wirelessly posted (8820)

Right, there is only one field for mobile, and there is a an "other" field. Forgot about the other field, and I've used it for other #'s, too.

Regardless, still sound to me like the first task is to get the database on the nokia (or do it off the nokia) in a compatible layout for the blackberry.
