Default can no longer connect to wifi

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked flip which I am using through AT&T. On my 1st couple of tries I was able to connect to the internet flawlessly using my home router.

Now when I try whether on my home router or any other unsecured router, I get an error W002. I have erased the TCP information. The problem is that when I try to set my browser to WIFI - that option is not available -HOTSPOT is the only option.

I can perform a survey & see my router & the ones around me, but can never connect to them

I have tried both with my edge on and off. Why was I initially able to connect, but cannot anymore?

If your reply, please do so in elementary terms - I am a 50 yo stay at home mom! Thanks

At home try shutting off your router and turning it back on
That might help reestablish a connection
I see similar connection issues
Where diagnostics shows good connection yet nothing
Sometimes its not the phone but a weak signal

No luck there - I have sat right in front of the router & reset the router, no luck - I have the latest OS download & do not have a data plan.
Thanks

ya I have gotten a similar problem it seems, I get a connection failed and taking the battery out doesn't always work and it seems like the phone is picky as to which it connects too but I messed around with it and it seems that it connects more often with a WEP password then without one, and if it still doesnt a router reboot usually helps

I've tried router reboot & battery pull again & again - I can never get a connection anywhere. My son is a p8intballer also...I'm thinking of wiping the phone -does this erase the OS also? Can I delete & reinstall the OS without wiping the phone? Could this help? I have done a backup of my phone thru bb desktop - After I wipe it, how do I reinstall the data? Thanks

I would say that you should try adding a WEP password to your router and connect with it from your BB I have had this solve things in the past, you could wipe it but Im not sure that would work, if your going to do anything with the OS then I would update

evilpaintballer: I figured it out - probably obvious to you - I had data services turned off. Simple fix - thanks for your help

Question Wifi

Thats great you got it working but Im also having problems (again) its weird because the bb may work and connect to my router for a few days without problems and then it will just keep saying W010 failed even though the signal is stron and everything else. I have found a temp solution to this and it is connecting to another router somewhere and then come back and its fine and/or restarting my router sometimes helps but why is this? is this my phone or my router?
