Default Bold 9000 and Blackberry OS 6

Please Login to Remove!

Just read an article indicating the Blackberry OS 6 will be released sometime between August and October (in the fall). The question I have is if my Bold 9000 will run the new OS. Thanks in advance.

Doubtful. Please check the Rumors section for a thread on OS 6.

With OS 5 streaching the available memory as compared to OS 4.6 I would be surprised if the Bold 9000 could support OS 6.

Rumor has it, only the devices that have 512MB of app memory will be able to run 6. But then other rumors say that the Storm 2 may handle it, I don't even think RIM knows what devices will be able to run OS6 yet.

Ok, bit of a bummer. But thank you just the same.

It will be interesting to see how well the 91xx, 95xx, 96xx and 97xx devices will be able to run OS6. My guess it will work, but not as well as it could.

It would be sort of like an 8300 running 5.0

I ran windows 95 on a 16mhz 386 computer. didn't run fast but it would run. Took 51/2 hours just to install it.

Os6 might not even load onto the older blackberries and if it did probably would not run at an optimum speed. Just a guess though.
