Default Cingular BIS or BB Connect?

Please Login to Remove!

I am getting my 8700c tomorrow! I am going to install the BES Express and integrate it with my companies Exchange server. What data plan do I need (BIS or BB Connect) from Cingular to integrate with my BES server?

No one from Cingular seems to know. I am talking to Cingular Blackberry support right now and this guy has no idea.

thanks in advance!

Doug

^^^ what he said ^^^ Now do you see the confusion? Easy when the terminology seems to mislead, especially the new users.

jdjleo, take it easy. Don't get angry with other members because their questions seem basic to you. I wouldn't get angry with you if you asked me how much a combat loaded Marine Corps M1A1 Abrams Tank weighed.

For real, BB Connect encompasses ALL data. Servers are irrelevant.

No no no not frustrated with him. he PM'd me its cool. Just kinda funny our customers need to come here and get SOC codes from ppl like myself on the froums so CARE can get it right! Its not our customers jobs to find this stuff out, they shouldnt even be aware of things like SOC codes!

Agreed, but the point is to not take out your frustrations on other members. This is an informative forum, and you seem very knowledgeable, and therefore valuable to us. But please don't direct your Cingular disappointments towards other members, that's all I ask. Thanks.

I see you point and agree with what you are saying but jdjleo has made it clear to me that he was not taking any frustrations out on me. Maybe there is some history here I don't know about but I am cool with jdjleo.

Thanks for sticking up for the new guy...anyway...

No history. It's just the the Mods try to keep this forum clean, friendly and informational above all else. There are several members who are high level execs at major corporations, many government members, many women and younger members as well, so we work hard to remain somewhat professional. Certainly some fun and entertainment is welcomed, but whenever someone seems to be getting a bit harsh, or worse, we step in to try to maintain respect. I was just trying to stop any trouble before it started - no ill will towards anyone.

I needed 3 characters - My post made sense with Seattle's edit....

Seattle,
I would hope that in future you 'discipline' us in private and not in public. If you got a problem with me or something I said, tell me in private. I don't like airing my laundry out in public.

Ok stripesace, I just spent several minutes of posting to make it clear that we do not post things like this. You are not immune. Take it easy, chill out, don't do it again.
