Default Does it need a service provider to login to bb protect?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,
I have suscribed to digicel sometime last year and use the bb protect and other internet apps. however due to so circumstances I discontinued the service. after that I forgot my password because I haven't use it for a while and the phone wiped clean, I setup the phone again and play around without a service provider now. I use my cable internet to acess the apps and browse the net.

However I can't login to bb protect from the phone using wi-fi. do I need a service provider to login to my bb protect account? I can login to the account with my computer though.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

You need a BlackBerry data plan from a carrier to get the service books to use BB Protect.

No. BlackBerry Protect is a service provided to users of the BlackBerry data service. If you aren't using the data service, then BlackBerry Protect isn't available to you.
