Default Song recognition app? Edge vs 3G?

Please Login to Remove!

My friend has the g1 and there is a cool app that if you hold the phone up it can identify a song playing on the radio. It is an awesome feature. I use t-mobile if that matters.

I use t-mobile and am getting the pearl flip from a friend. I know it is not 3G capable but I am wondering how much slower is EDGE than 3G? I will not be a heavy web user on it. Just to check certain websites a few times a day and follow my fantasy baseball team.

Thanks alot for any help.

EDGE averages about 50-125 kbps, slightly faster than dial up. 3G averages 400-900 kbps. The difference is enough that browsing will seem slow. And if those sites are not optimized for web viewing it could really be slow.
