Some of you may have seen my thread for selling a 7520. Well I got a respond through e-mail from a person saying that they wanted to purchase it. I'll show you the e-mail conversations:

I’m going to assume that you are referring to the Blackberry 7520. It is still for sale, the price is $165 + Shipping. If you like the shipping to go faster you can add the $10 that you mentioned. Let me know what your zip code is so I can give you an accurate shipping cost.

At this point I had heard of Scammers from Nigeria. So I didn't feel right continuing this transaction.

I posted the add for the 7520 only on 2 sites, BBForums & HOFO. No I'm not certain which site he came from but they're out there so be careful who you do transactions with.

I have had 3 phones sell on ebay only to have these scumbags try that lame a$$ scam. Who in the world would fall for that? I guess people do or they would not try! Luckily ebay is quick to refund listing costs when this happens. Gotta be carefull selling these days.

deffinatly a scam! he wanted my account number for a direct wire transfer, i said i will accept only paypal or a money order or certified check and he didnt respond after that.

Never, never do mail, phone, or internet business with someone from Nigeria (or any transaction that even mentions Nigeria in the proposition).

Nigeria is the worst scamming nation on the planet.
Nigerian scammers (credit card fraud, bank fraud, money transfer fraud, etc) are never punished by the Nigerian government.
In fact, Internet scams are even "encouraged" by the Nigerian government as a means of bringing US Dollars into their economy.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

I got sick and tired of questions when listing items on e-bay such that all my listings state that I don't respond to enquiries from Nigeria or the Phillipines. I also state that I only accept PayPal. As a result of this I have noticed a signficant drop in the number of scammers trying to contact me.
