Storm shortcuts... what's yours?
Please Login to Remove!
We all love shortcuts. On the previous full QWERTY keyboard BlackBerrys there was nothing simpler than pressing N for BBMessenger, O for Options, etc.
So... great shortcuts like that seem lost on the Storm. But there are shortcuts. And some hidden screens.
Access your "Help Me!" screen: from the homescreen hold down the 'escape' key while pressing the upper left corner of the screen, upper right, upper left and upper right.
What's yours?

I know it's common knowledge but hitting the menu key to select instead of tapping the screen makes my day and allows me to use the phone one handed!

Hover your finger over the senders name in the message list, for about 5 seconds, and you will see a "progress bar" across the name and "searching" as it pulls all messages from that sender.
Hover your finger over the SUBJECT line for the same subject search.

In response to pressing the menu button, if you press menu, it will show the menu. If you press it again while the menu is up, it will select the highlighted option. So, if you write a message, press menu, it will show the selected option as "Send", press menu again and it will select "Send". Easier than pressing Menu and then Send.

My tip isn't necessarily confined to the Storm, but can possibly help other BlackBerry users too. Having been a long time Palm user, I was quite frustrated at not being able to load all of my bookmarks. And setting each one up proved to be tedious as I have at least a hundred sites that I don't want to type in each time. Being a BES user, I created a "Note" in Outlook and copy/pasted my PC Firefox bookmarks into it. A few seconds later it shows up on my Storm in the Memopad. I can easily open that, press and hold the link I want, and then confirm the "Get Link" menu item. Boom! I've taken it a step further and just organized my bookmarks into ta few different "Notes" so that I can find what I want faster.
