Default Internal Message Notification Light not working

Please Login to Remove!

There appears to be a little light, above the Blackberry logo on the internal screen.

Mine does not light up when getting a message. The external message notification light works, just not the internal. Anyone else having this problem?

I am on OS 4.6.0.180 (4.1.0.61)

I did switch devices using DM from an 8100.

You turn the notification light on/off in Profiles.
Profiles>Advanced>highlight the profile you want to use>Menu>Edit>highlight what you want to change ie email address>press trackball>set Repeat Notification to LED Flashing>Menu>Save

That little thing that looks like a little light on the internal screen, has to do with light but is not a light.

It's a photovoltaic cell to detect how much light is in the enviorment around you. This is used by the blackberry to adjust the brightness of the internal display automaticly if you have it set to do so under Settings>Options>Screen/Keyboard>Automatically Dim Backlight = On.

Try it. If you are in a bright enviornment the screen will be bright, if you are in the dark, it will be dimmer to be easier on the eyes.

I hope that helps.

AWW JEEZ ... now I feel "stoopid"!

Thanks, I thought it was broken. Coming from an 8100 I just kind of expected that since it was in the same general location it had the same function...

I kind of wish it was a notification light

No need to feel stoopid. I have someone who shares genetic material with me who thought it was a soul sucker, until I told him that, that is the blackberry it's self.
