Default synchronization is currently unavailable for address Book - Help!

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded my 9700 to the newest OS. Great thing, accept that now I can't sync my address book with Outlook.
This is the message I get: The Address Book is configured for wireless synchronization... Desktop synchronization will be disabled.
How do I get rid of wireless synchronization?...

Go into Address Book > Options > Desktop > Wireless Sync = ???

I ended up restoring everything and it solved the problem. Phew...

Funny.. I have the exact opposite problem.

I was looking at the synch options using DM 6.0.42 for Lotus Notes. I am on a BES and had all my data synch'ing well. Just a minor issue of not being able to get the PIN numbers over into Notes. So I looked at filed mappings and moved PIN to lick to a user defined field in Notes. (I did this per a tech note from our IT dept) Now I can ONLY synch from the desktop. Calendar still shows wireless synch. But not Address book.

Un-installed DM and deleted all saved data. Re-installed DM. Added my 9800 as a new device and gave it all the info to connect to my Notes BES server. Still only calendar shows wireless. Double checked my contacts. It shows the default Name & Address book default. But no wireless option.

I've wiped the device and reloaded the OS a couple of times. Reloaded all my apps. Then restored my back up. I'm feeling like that backup is putting the "no wireless" option back in place.

I'm afraid I will probably have to wipe, reload apps but no restore. That would let all the default BES settings come back in.Then I would have to manually update all the options again.

Anyone have a better idea?

Wiping your device breaks the BES connection.

If you restored your data, then you restored your service book. Go into Options > Advanced Options > Service Book (if that's where it's located on the 9800) and delete the Desktop [Sync] service book. Then try to do your sync. If it completes, then undelete the service book.

You da MAN!!!! Thanks so much. I've been going nuts trying to figure this one out. Everything on DM 6 now shows Wireless synch again.

JSC, I have the same problem. In relation to your fix, I can't see an "address book" on my blackberry. Does this only come when a BES account is set up? I don't yet have a BES account. Curiously, my outlook calendar sync did not fail with this message!
