Hola, I recently stumbled across a website (myxertones.com) and was wondering if anyone uses this website for free ringtones. I know that there are a myriad of websites out there, but this one sends the ringtone directly to your Bberry, which is always nice. Let me know your thoughts...

Jsanders, thanks for the suggestion. However, are you signed up with them? I have sent myself like 3 "free" ringtones and now have been prompted to sign up. I know it says that it is "free" but I am just weary of any rammifications that may come of signing up.

I am not signed up... you'll probably get some spam, what else could be the purpose? lol and then it is not spam since you signed up with them.

Cool. Everyone thanks for the info. They do have an abundance of great ringtones on there. I used to use tuneusin.com but it seems like they have limited and older ringtones. Thanks again to everyone who posted...

Just ran across this about Myxer - Download Ringtones and More
I assume that the concern over spam relates to the e-mail account you register with. Is there anything that can happen to the phone that should be cause for concern? I suppose they can hand over banks of cell numbers to someone or company.

Hate to be a nit, but don't want to get a bunch of useless phone calls, that would be worse than e-mail spam.

While on the subject has anyone tried Phonezoo.com? Opinions?

Thanks

You are referring to Phonezoo.com?

BTW, in reading the web pages on these download sites I have a new question. Is it necessary to be set up for text messages thru the carrier in order to receive these ringtones?

I don't have or need text messaging and therefor don't subscribe to it. However, for the next 27 days I do have web access with the BB 8310.

Thanks

There are plenty of places with so called "free" ringtones, but you'll always be charged for using the phone's network to download them (unless you have an unlimited data plan). Why not do like everyone else and make your own with Audacity? If your phone has bluetooth and it more than likely does, just get one of those bluetooth adapters for the PC, create a short sound clip of whatever and send it to phone. Pretty easy really. If Audacity is too complicated for you use online editor http://makeownringtone.com it allows do download ringtones to your PC.

Default Myxertones.com

I have been using myxertones for about a year now , signed up for free on first visit . I have never received any spam or anything bad from them . I used it to make my own ringtones before i started using audacity . Still use myxertones now and then . I would recomend them unless you can dl your own songs and chop them

Watch the ring tones you are sending to yourself. The only time I have ever been asked to sign up was when I accidentally clicked a pay ring tone thinking it was free.

I eventually did sign up and have never received any spam from them. My only gripe is the sound quality on some of the ring tones is pretty poor, but I'm not going to complain as I am getting them free.

I get all my ringtones off of Free MP3 Ringtones - Downloads and just send them from bluetooth to my phone, as I do not have the unlimited data plan.

I've used myxertones for probably 30 ring tones or so, never paid a dime and they have always worked well. I always upload songs from my computer and can select which part of the song i want. I did have to sign up though.

Phonezoo is a nice website but their ringtones are not free, does myxertones offer free tones? Another free ringtones website i came across.

I also like Zedge because you can download ringers directly to your phone via WAP, i do that for my motorola razr.
