Default Control Keyboard Backlight Independently?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way to turn the keyboard backlight off at night? I'm using Mobipocket to read some books at night and with the keyboard's uberbacklight glaring at me it's getting pretty annoying - is there any way to switch it off?

Put it in the holster. The sleeper magnet will put the BlackBerry in a reduced power mode (ie. turning off any backlights).

Uhh...still not grasping the concept. The magnet turns the keyboard backlight and the screen off. So...

I'm going to bump this one.

Any developer out there who wants to write a program to manually switch the keyboard backlight off has my $5.

Yeah, it's great, but on the 8700 the keyboard backlight doesn't dim to suit, so once your eyes adjust to the dark the glare from the keyboard is a bit annoying.

I'm starting to get the impression nobody actually read my first post and understood what I wrote. I want the screen on but the keyboard backlight off, in the dark. That's all.

You may wanna check sourceforge.net they might have an application that can provide what you're looking for . I honestly dont think it can be done without tampering with the LEDs under the keypad.

Check for BBLight. it will do what you want. Also, please search for your answers before posting. We also do try to encourage refraining from thread hijacking (posting a different question in a thread that is about a different subject). Thanks for understanding and welcome to the forums.
