I'm not sure what OS version you are running but here is the file you need to install it in the Application Loader.

OS 4.1: http://www.tech9computers.com/4.1/BBTracker.alx
OS 4.2: http://www.tech9computers.com/BBTracker.alx

Maybe I'm useless but when I click that link all I get is a new webpage displaying the following. I know .alx is what I need though, how do I get the file to my machine? I try to right click but it doesn't give me the option to save the file, only to save the link.

<loader version="1.0">

Okay so instead of messing with the .alx file, I simply opened your tech9computers.com/4.1 directory and browsed the files until I found the BBTracker.COD and downloaded it. Then I loaded that with my Application Loader and ran the application on my Blackberry after installing it. I get inside, allow connections, log in and it gives me a message saying, "Unable to get GPS information; Unable to get location provider." Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT:
Blackberry 8703e
Operating System 4.1.0.352

roaming in Atlanta

Trying hitting the menu button and going to Settings. Change the update interval to something higher...try 60 and 300. See if either of those work.

I tried both and left it outside for 10 minutes. Still nothing.

EDIT - Telus roams on Verizon in the USA, don't they disable AGPS in their network? Could that be it?

That's definitely a possibility. I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon's network blocks the GPS requests. You might just have to wait to use GPS till you get home. Also, if Google Maps or BBMaps GPS doesn't work than I would say its definitely Verizon.

Absolutely radical. Congratulations. Now I want more! What do you think of these ideas?
  1. If data connection is lost, save tracklog locally and upload it in bulk when connection is restored (I'd love to use this while hiking and camping so I could look at the route and geocode afterwards)
  2. Allow users to send photos to an e-mail address on your system, and place the photos they sent on the map by correlating time photo was taken with known location at that time (example)
  3. KML and GPX formatted tracklog export for use with gpicsync or other geolocation tools
  4. Option to save tracklog to memory card as KML or GPX instead of uploading
  5. Investigate whether 2 applications can use the GPS simultaneously (so I can track and use telenav at the same time)

This application (and the web service you've put behind it) is awesome. Keep it up!

Default Agggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

I CAN'T GET THIS BLOODY SOFTWARE TO WORK!!!

I've installed the software, corrected the APN info, but when I click on the icon on my BlackBerry 8800 and log in, it comes up "Error: Unable to login at this time. Please try again later: Connection closed"

What does that mean!!!!!?

I feel like I'm in that film "Office Space" and my blackberry keeps saying "PC Load Letter"

Maybe I didn't find it yet but I think that the option for public access to the position would be good too. I used to use mologogo while I was traveling and my position was displayed in my blog. Everyone could check where I was or when last time my phone gave the position Locate Wojtek

But my phone got stolen and now I'm looking for something different than mologogo This looks promising.

Unable to log in at this time. Please try again later. javax.microedition.io.connector.ttp. I'm using a BB8820. Any help would be appreciated.

Thumbs up

This is a great application!

I am having some issues with use of multiple devices. I have used my credentials on three different devices and although I'm currently logged into the Tracker one just one device, the Live Tracking map shows an old device with an old date.

Would it be possible to add the ability to delete devices? Also, it appears that the most recently-used device isn't what shows on the map. Would it be possible to fix this?

I can use telenav for 10 hours straight which uses data and GPS signal and I still
can have like 30% battery left.

Just with the tracking program running in the background, after 4 hours I have only 40% left

I agree, one of the reason why I sometime use it when needed. But most of the time I use Mologogo. It seems like it's more optimized for the battery.

Question

BB: 8703e
OS: 4.1
Provider: Sprint

Getting the following error:

Unable to get GPS information: Unable to get location provider.

Latitude: N/A
Longitude: N/A
Altitude: N/A
Last Update: N/A

I tried changing the interval on it out to 90 seconds and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Has anyone had any luck getting this to work on a Sprint 8703e? I know that my GPS is working since I can bring up my location in Telenav.

Anyone?

xoclipse just like to comment on the great job to date, your website looks wonderful.

Just a quick question before i start the testing again, are the tags that i tag available for others to see?? I noticed that after i tagged a site "Home" it came up with other "Home" tags from other users which i click and viewed. I don't think i like the idea if all my tags are visible to other without my consent.

Again you have out done yourself with this app and website, great work and keep it up.

Thanks !
