Just a quick question before i start the testing again, are the tags that i tag available for others to see?? I noticed that after i tagged a site "Home" it came up with other "Home" tags from other users which i click and viewed. I don't think i like the idea if all my tags are visible to other without my consent.

Again you have out done yourself with this app and website, great work and keep it up.

Thanks !
Yeah, they are all currently public. In the next client version there will be a private checkbox that will make it so only you(and your friends) can see them.

Glad your enjoying the app.

Having the same problem. I use 8700g with T-Mobile with Holux 1200. I have used this GPS with success for a long time; BBMaps, Google, Wayfinder. I can't make BBTracker to work. Any suggestions, please.
Also, when I go on line there is a device in my profile which I didn't add????

I tried changing the interval on it out to 90 seconds and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Has anyone had any luck getting this to work on a Sprint 8703e? I know that my GPS is working since I can bring up my location in Telenav.

Anyone?
Bueller, Bueller..

Dead thread? Or no one has it working on a Sprint BB... Bummer

I recently set up my account in BlackBerry Tracker, but when I try to connect using my BlackBerry 8800, I get the following error:

Just received my Qstarz BT Q1000 puck and all seems to work fine with BB Tracker on AT&T 8300.

Love the app xoclipse and looking forward to using it more in the coming days.
Thanks and keep up the great work

It also does some cool stuff such as letting you see a predefined interval of GPS coordinates(i.e if you want to see the phone's path on a map for the day before, or certain hours, etc,.). I just wrote it yesterday but I'd like to have some people help me test it out, so if anyone is interested just PM me.

Basically the process for getting it set up goes like this:

Go to the web site and sign up and create a username/password.
Download the OTA application on your phone and the login with same username/password.
The application will begin sending GPS data to the web application.
Login to the site from anywhere to see the map data.

Here are a couple screenshots of the web interface:

Any comments/suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

P.S Just before posting this thread I saw a post with 'bbtracker' in the title...I guess I need to pick a new name ;)

I signed up for it today for my 8310, but it says that I have no devices to track. Under my devices, it wont let me add one!

Thumbs up Awsome Application

Application installed and is running with no problems on a 8310, good job.

I have a general question: if I increase the interval from 20 to 40 seconds, will it have a noticeable effect on battery life?

Yeah I think you will see a noticeable difference. I leave mine at 120 seconds and the battery gets me through the day fine.

Wirelessly posted (AT&T (Cingular) 8100 Pearl: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

FYI - works on my 8100 Pearl and i.Trek M6 BT GPS.

Cool web/app!

Very cool thanks Chris! I love it. I saw on your blog that you were adding the ability to display on our own webpages the map info and live tracking. Is it available? I was looking to do exactly that about a month ago so I'm pscyhed that it looks like it's a possibility.

How do we remove devices we're not using anymore off our profiles on the site?

Hi Everyone,

I've been working on a new design of the site and some new features that will hopefully be ready in the next week.
  • Some of the new features are a new developer section for retrieving your location and putting it on your site.
  • Multi-Language Support(If anyone wants to help translate...let me know).
  • Better layout.
  • Code is more efficient.

Here is a screenshot:

I'm not a good web designer(code is more my thing)...so if anyone has any tips on a better layout or would like to help out let me know. Any comments/suggestions are welcome!

I'm actually working on a new version of the site right now...which include developer functionality.

Awesome app. I played with it 2 weeks ago while working in Paris and this week home in the US. I was just showing it to my son so he can track me in while I work in China next week. Very nice.

Xoclipse, thanks for the time and effort you have put in to this. Great job and I look forward to the soon to be added developer functionality.

Default Developer Functionality!

The first version of the developer API is done! It uses a REST interface and returns XML documents with location information and device information for your Blackberry Tracker account.

Right now I've only implemented a library in Python, although I might do one in PHP soon(If anyone wants to contribute, go for it).

You can use location/device information to put on your website or blog, or whatever else you can think of.
