Question Seidio / Innocell Battery = Decreased Signal Strength?

Please Login to Remove!

I was running some tests today against the Seidio/Innocell and factory battery, and found that the Seidio/Innocell battery caused a decrease in signal strength that got worse as time went on, eventually causing the phone to drop down from 3G to EDGE.

Below is the data I collected to give a general idea what I mean. Also, note at the very bottom what happened to the Seidio/Innocell battery once I plugged in the power cord:

-81 - Seidio (5:36)
-81 - Seidio (5:46)
-97 - Seidio (5:58), down to EDGE
-100 - Seidio (6:08), down to EDGE
-81 - SEidio (6:29), back up to 3G

-70 - Factory (6:32), 3G
-70 - Factory (6:43), 3G
-81 - Factory (6:56), 3G
-70 - Factory (7:29), 3G

-81/-70 - Seidio (7:35), 3G
-97 - Seidio (8:21), EDGE
-96 - Seidio (8:36), EDGE

-70 - Seidio w/ charger plugged in (8:45), 3G
-81 - Seidio w/ charger plugged in (8:50), 3G
-70 - Seidio w/ charger plugged in (8:53), 3G

Any one have any feedback from their experiences, or input on what they think? My initial guess is the power coming from the Seidio/Innocell is not doing as good of a job as the factory battery, so the radio performance suffers. I have yet to gather any actual data on the two batteries performance characteristics.

Needless to say, I am very close to returning the Seidio/Innocell battery as it degrades the performance of the Bold, even though it does do an amazing job in the general "battery life" department.

Okay, well I guess nobody has had similar experience. I can only assume then this is a defective battery. I am going to contact Seidio and see what they think. My only thought could be the Arizona heat somehow caused issues with the battery, but other than the signal quality nothing else seems wrong. My Seidio Innocell battery definitely adversely impacts signal quality after observing it a few days compared to the factory battery.
