hi all,

In my application iam using application permission API,i ll get the status of the permission using
boolean status1=ap.containsPermissionKey(ApplicationPermis sions.PERMISSION_BLUETOOTH);
iam getting status as true as all permissons are in allow state in emulator.
Is there any way to change the permission to deny in emulator,iam asking this because as soon as i change permission to deny and click on save my emulator is getting struck. is it my emulator's problem or we cant change the permission in emulator?????

I think if you change the permission in emulator, you are not changing the permission for the your application, but for the emulator application.

iam developing my application using J2ME midlet,i mixed up midlet and Black berry api's,if i want to test my application in black berry device it asking me for the signing of the API,so now i want to change the emulator permission to test my application output.I want to check what will be the output if permission is in allow state and what will be the output if the permission is in deny state.

For signing you have to get a signing key (from RIM I think - $100).

In simulator the permissions will be allow by default for your application

So I am not sure whether you can test that in a simulator.

Once you sign your application you can use that in the device and test it.

who said you can't run simulator with all security option turned on like the actual device?

you can and it's called secure mode, you just have to edit simulator xxxx.bat in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1\simulator (maybe different from your installation directory)
and add /secure

example, i modified 8800.bat

@echo off 
fledge.exe /app=Jvm.dll /handheld=8800 /session=8800 /app-param=DisableRegistration /app-param=JvmAlxConfigFile:8800.xml /data-port=0x4d44 /data-port=0x4d4e /pin=0x2100000A /secure

if you have JDE that would be easier since you can turned on security option on device simulator preference
