I have the 8350i and it has been flaky with the incoming text messaging but overall has been receiving almost everything lately. My wife previously had the motorola I880 (IDEN) and I could easily send text's from her phone to my 8350i along with sending messages back to her phone.
Last week I got this great idea to get my wife a new blackberry but she absolutely did NOT want the 8350i due to all the problems I have been having with mine including the text and echo issues. We bought an 8330 Sprint unit and it seems to work great HOWEVER I cannot receive ANY text messages from her phone on my 8350i. I have tried everything and even spent 3 hours on a worthless call to Sprint / Nextel last night who could not fix the problem or provide a reason why this is occuring. I CAN send text's from my 8350i to her 8330 BUT she cannot reply to me or send any new messages.
In addition, I tried to send a text from her 8330 to a friend who is on an IDEN I880 and he NEVER received the message.
Is there something I don't know about texting issues between Sprint phones and Nextel phones ? Is there anything I can do to get this function to work ? I cannot understand why this is such an issue.
The 8330 has a firewall, u might want to check if its on. And if it is then that might be ur problem. The firewall doesn't allow u to send or recive any messages..
I had turned on my firewall. And I was woundering why I wusnt reciving any text. Then I remember that I had turned my firewall on. Hope that's the problem..
