Default unlocking bb - switch provider and BIS

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
If I get a Rogers BB 9000 and unlock it. Take it over to use on Telus which BIS site do I use to setup my account? The Rogers BIS or Telus BIS?

Also what should be checked / done when buying used device and making sure it's clear / lean? I plan on calling Rogers tonight when I meet up with the person to validate that it's all legit and correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx

I don't think you can use a Rogers BB on Telus - GSM vs. CDMA. I could be wrong though. If you can, you'd set it up on the Telus BIS since that would be your providor.

Telus now has an HSPA+ network. The Bold 9k operates on the compatible frequency once you unlock it of course. Thanks for your input.

Ahhh....

I'd recommend reading this: Buying a BlackBerry off eBay - BlackBerryFAQ

You're not buying off of eBay, but a lot of the stuff still applies.

The guide worked like a charm - got it all up and running without any issues. First time using a device from another carrier. Much appreciated.
