hello,
my friend has an email recieved on has Gmail acoount with fhoto's inside with JPEG.REM file extension. I read about this exension it seems to me this file extension been used by blackberry. so what I have to do to open this file and look to fhoto's under windows7 64 bit and under windows XP 32 bit.
DO I have to download some software to open this files. if so which software I have to download for windows 7 64 bit and for windows XP 32 bit.
very short answers wil be enough. can you give me some advise ,I wil appreciate that.

You can't open that file. The .rem extension means it is encrypted and can only be opened using the BlackBerry device that encrypted it.

And if the old device has kicked the bucket, there is absolutely no way to get this data back? :(

If the files were encrypted to the device... then no, there is no way to get that data back.
