Default calendar alarm silence

Please Login to Remove!

Please can someone assist me?
Is there a setting somewhere that silences the calendar alarm either when: the phone's turned off or when its on the silent profile.
When I'm sitting in a meeting with the silent profile on my BB will still sound out the alarm, which is really sub-optimal for business....
Thanks.

Go to SOUNDS(speaker icon), scroll down to EDIT PROFILES, scroll to SILENT, scroll to REMINDERS, then to CALENDER, then make sure Volume is set to silent.

This is not detailed enough, user cannot find this menu, can you elaborate please?

Fixmo Tools has a module that silences the blackberry whenever you have a meeting in you calendar. Search on Fixmo in BB app center.

Hi guys,
Still having problems with this:

-secretary creates "posted appointments" in users Groupwise calendar (using proxy access)
-this creates an entry in calendar on Blackberry too
-both have alarms as default
-secretary switches off alarm in Groupwise calendar
-does not switch off alarm on device

I have suggested they do not use "posted appointments" in Groupwise, instead they try "appointments", but these need to be confirmed, which the user hates doing.

Can anyone suggest how to remove all alarm notifications from the calendar on the device please? Sounds and pop ups.

Ok, as a workaround, I have set the profile to "telephone only".

Default Re: calendar alarm silence

I've seen a lot of posts about issues with alarms but not many of them offered any real solutions.
today I stumbled across a solution for one of them I don;t seem to be able to create new threads so I've added my findings to this one. Sorry if that is the wrong thing to do

for months now my issue was that my alarm would not sound in the morning if my device was turned off overnight. so I was forced to put the phone in bedside mode just so the alarm would ring

after testing this multiple times the alarm would "wake up the the BB 9700" , vibrate once but not sound the alarm

today I stumbled across the solution there turns out to be a conflict with the alarm clock and the event notifications option
if you have event notifications turned on then it stops the alarm from ringing in the morning
so to resolve this simply go to
settings>advanced options> accessibility and turn off the "Event sounds"

hey presto alarm will now ring even if the phone is switched off
