I cant put a status on my BBM, there is a box there but its thin and I cant type anything in it

Does anyone know why?

yes I do have a data plan. I can change my pic, see everyone elses status updates, I just cant put my own status updates on there.

Might seem like a really minor thing but it really annoys me!
