Default T-Mobile Poor Customer Service Rant

Please Login to Remove!

Had to share my recent episode with T-Mobile. I have had the service since 2004 and never really encountered any issues with them until this past month.

Anyways, long story short I have a 7290 that died and an old 6230 THAT is on life support. I was then offered a Pearl for $149.00 with a one year contract. I then called back a few days later to take advantage of the offer and T-Mobile says its a 2 year deal and there was a "miscommunication" about the initial offer.

So I am pissed at this point, roll into a Cingular store to check out their offers. Nothing spectacular plus Ill end up paying a $200 hit for breaking Tmobile contract early.

So I call Tmobile back to get my Pearl and they say: sir the price has gone up to $199!! WTF!! Well after 30 minutes and 2 supervisors later they honor the deal? Im still pissed off I have to fight for every penny with T-Mobile.

These guys are like the MAFIA!!

Don't fear it is more or less the same with all of the carriers

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8100: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Ever try calling one of the other providers? They are for the most part all pretty incompetent but I have always been pretty pleased with T-Mo...

I always have then note my account so the next rep can see what I was told! Next time just have them note the price quote in your account and tell them you need time to think about it. Then when you call back later the account has already been noted for all to see... Just a thought...

Hope you like the 8100

I've been happier with TMo's customer service than any other wireless provider. 24/7 and they always come through. That being said, I don't go there for info that I can get here. They just don't know BB until you get pretty far up the food chain.

Well, regardless of long standing service..

Prices on phones are a tad bit hard to negotiate..
Especially on upgrade cases.

You're not so much the "target" anymore, where they offer you a huge discount on the handset or device in order to get you as a client.

Couple things to keep in mind:
A) T-Mobile really only does 2 year contracts anymore. If there is a specific reason you require a one year.. they'll bend the rules.. but T-Mobile was one of the last of the carriers to switch to sole 2 years.
B) It is definitely a good idea to do what LunkHead said... ALWAYS have the Customer Service rep notate whatever went on or whatever in the account. These are things that each rep ALWAYS looks at each time the account is pulled up.. so having this info in there will guarantee you safety.
C) John Clark is right.. with devices and issues like those of BlackBerry's.. it's a bit difficult to get some of the support you require.. the lower reps and Tiers of Tech Suport really have no idea.. they read things from an automated system that asks them questions and in turn they ask you in order to hopefully provide the solution.. then transfer you up to the next Tier.. you really don't get with the experienced ones until you get a BlackBerry specialist, the BB dep't, or Tier 3 Data Support.

Good luck on snaggin' yourself a Pearl.
Hope you end up sticking with T-Mobile!

Hell Yea!!! I agree... T-Mo's CS SUX!!!
I've been with them for 4 yrs and after all this time
they tell me to do a DM upgrade and cause BOTH of
my PC and BB to crash!!! They were soooo willing
to exchange my BB for a new one but didn't put any
claim to screwing up my computer. Kinda coincidential
that BOTH the BB and PC crashed within a couple min's
of eachother... anyway... don't DOWNLOAD FROM T-Mo's
website!!! Go to blackberry.com for downloads!!! :D

Give me a break!
This would be like me wanting you to be responsible for your themes/wallpaper crashing my BB. You'd say back to me, "hundreds of other people have downloaded your themes without any problem so it's not your theme's fault." Many, many people have downloaded the software from TMo's website, me included. Most likely you had other issues. There is nothing wrong with the software from TMo's website. DM software is the same as from BB.com. Also, TMo's handheld software isn't even available at BB.com.

That's fine and all... but why are you attacking every post I make?!
If it wasn't TMo's website then why'd everything go to sh*t shortly after?
Did ya ever think maybe something corrupted the link on TMo's website?!
In fact I did have a tech from their BB dept call me up a day after I contacted them about the incident saying they had to change the download because something WAS wrong with it. Now please quit going after every comment I make.

When did you download the alleged bad download? Just curious since I also support T-Mobile devices.
