messages auto open problem

I have set my messages to NEVER auto open when Tour is removed from the holster, yet they still do. Anyone else having this problem or consider it a problem?
Email>options>general options>auto open> NEVER
This is the only setting I've found and it doesn't work.
Other than that and wishing Seido had a extended battery with door like the one for the curve already - I L!OVE THIS PHONE - it's the storm with a keyboard - perfect for me!
