Default Slingbox on Blackberry

Has anyone heard anything on if Slingbox and Blackberry will make an app and work together? I converted from Windows mobile 5 and loved being able to watch Slingbox whenever I wanted.

There are a couple of threads on this topic/request. As Sith_Apprentice indicated that have said they are "working on it."

I'd sure like to see this. I can get my slingbox to work ok when tethering--not super fast but it does work. Let's hope they can get it going for us EDGE users.

I am really curious to see how well EDGE handles the stream...

This one mentions WiFi and 3G but not EDGE...

Subject: [Viigo] Sling announces SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry

Windows Mobile: check. Palm OS: check. S60: yep. So what's the giant, gaping hole left in Sling's coverage of mobile clients? BlackBerry, of course, and the company has finally confirmed what we already sorta knew -- that a SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry is officially in the works. Sling will be demonstrating its latest client at CES on a Pearl 8120, utilizing its WiFi connection (though 3G will work just as well) to stream down an endless barrage of mind-numbing content from the Slingbox of your choice. Look for it to show up on a BlackBerry near you "later this year" for a shade under $30. Hop on over to Engadget for a quick hands-on with the goods!

what I am curious about, is the device shown. That is not the Blue Suncom 8120 in the picture. Are they using an overseas device, or are they perhaps using an overseas model to demonstrate here in the US?

I visited the Sling booth at CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) on Thursday. They had it running on BlackBerry Curves using EDGE (I asked to be sure). The video quality was good, not great, but was certainly watchable.

We were in the Sands Convention Center, and I don't know if they had set up a repeater to enhance the signal strength. They told me the BlackBerry software would ship later this year.

They hope to support the iPhone, though the iPhone's higher-resolution screen will make it difficult to stream using just EDGE. They don't want to support the iPhone at a reduced (320x240) resolution.

Yes, Sling is notorious for making schedule promises that they can not keep.
