From what I understand, the BB can only be sync'd with the headsets designed for it. I may be wrong about it, just my 2 cents.

We're not talking about syncing, BBFreak, we're talking about pairing. And many people have successfully paired their BBs with their cars.

nimrod, the best place to look would be the car's user manual. That will help you get started better than coming on these boards and asking for someone to walk you through it. If you are still having problems, feel free to come back here and post a specific question.

I stand corrected, I'm not really into bluetooth just passing along what I've heard from others. Sorry.

That's OK. A BlackBerry can pair with ANY bluetooth device that supports the handsfree or headset profiles...in other words, it can pair with all bluetooth headsets and with any other device (in this case, a car) that has those bluetooth profiles (capabilities). Headsets do not have to be specifically designed for the BlackBerry. In fact, there aren't any specifically designed for the BlackBerry.

I'm not sure you're right mrogers. I've had the same problem as nimrod. My 7290 will pair with an Infinity, but not with an Audi A6. Not sure why the Bluetooth version would be different. It makes the authentication briefly, then hangs. I suspect it's something in the Audi's Bluetooth software.

You may need to visit an Audi forum to get specific information. When my mother had trouble pairing her phone to her Acura TL, there was thread after thread discussing this in the Acura TL forums and she was able to work through her problems.

Angry 2005 Audi A6

There's a short list of bluetooth phones that work properly with the Audi A6.. Not a single blackberry works with it.

Huh? If by database you mean your address book, then you can't, no matter what car it is. The Blackberry does not allow the address book to be transferred over Bluetooth for security reasons.

Talking May work

I was told by both BB support AND BMW that my BB 7520 and my 06 325i would not work. Guess what? They do.

1.Discoverable = YES
2.encryption = Disabled
3.Trusted = YES
4.Services = Handsfree

Make sure that you go to the BB website and update both the desktop and the handheld software ( I did it Saturday the 30th, May). My unit would not work until after I did. Then viola! It works.
