Default Wifi logo always grayed out

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have one problem which i haven't been able to solve even tho i've read everything about wifi and BB...

I always have the wifi logo grayed out. My router is working fine(i have a friend using the same BB (8520 curve) and she has it bold). I have a data plan ofc. After reading and trying to solve this, I realised that in my Service Book is missing IPPP for BIBS... I called my carrier (Vodafone Spain) and told me that the services are all the same for everybody and they can do nothing.I've tried re-sending the service books and everything but it didn't work. They suggested me to email spain(at)blackberry.net and tell them my problem but I am afraid it is not a BB problem (since I suppose the Service Book is something related with the Data Plan...)

What should I do??

I can connect and surf around the net with no problems!

My problem is when I have no coverage because my wifi logo remains grayed out and I am not able to use BBM and this stuff...

I've just called my carrier and they haven't been able to solve my problem. The most interesting thing they have told me is to download an application which uses IPPP for BIBS and then i will have it in my Service Book (really?)

I'm not quite sure. I was under the impression that the carrier pushed the service books that you needed to you. Never really heard of downloading some sort of app just to get the service book.

Sorry out of ideas.

Hmm did you try Battery Pull? I don't know any other suggestions as normally the carrier is the one who pushed services books.

Maybe you and your friend could visit Vodafone store and show them your blackberries service books so that they can see you are missing extra service book... perhaps the Vodafone staff at the store could ring up Blackberry support in Vodafone Spain.

Thank you for all ur help!

Now i found that i cannot connect properly to my router at home (at unversity i should be able to since there is no possible router configuration change and my friend's one works perfect). I found out that in Wifi diagnostic theres something wrong: Blackberry infrastructure: Connecting has a red cross, Authenticating router a grey slash and Authenticating server the same grey slash...

Why can be that?

no you need a blackberry data plan.
then you need to resend the service books.
