Default Blackberry Switch without knowing BES info

Please Login to Remove!

Currently I have a blackberry that is on its last leg.

I need to switch to a new blackberry device.

When ever I use the Swith Device Utility in the Blackberry Desktop Manager will it copy over all info including my server info?

Basically if I use the switch will it work with email and all the rest like it does now.

I need to know if this will work before I go buy a new one.

Please help.

Thanks in advance!

all you have to do is notify your BES admin and they can reactivate you on the server. its very easy to do, just sending a new password to you. welcome to the forums.

Some BES servers are set to allow the " Switch Device option" in the desktop manager. Backup your current BB and just plug in the new one and it should do a switch without any intervention by anyone.
If you dont have the DM you can down load it from many sources including RIM at
BlackBerry

go the support page then to downloads

Like Sith & tsac mention here:
- If your BES Admin has the server set to allow you to switch devices then you will be prompted to switch to the new device when you plug it in and it will go through the motion.
- If you are allowed to do it yourself, then by using the "Switch Device" option it will automatically create a back up of your old data and port that data over to your new device, as well as some applications (you may have to re-install some 3rd party apps, they don't always come over clean).

Since my company allows you to switch a device on your own I have used the "Switch Device" wizard a few times. Its very easy to use.

best of luck!
Regards,
