Default 9700 switching between handset and headset during a call

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, my 9700 is now unstable during a call. The symbol in the upper left corner switches once every second between the call symbol (two arrows in opposite directions) and the headset symbol. This also happens when the 9700 is connected to the hands free set in my car via Bluetooth. The speaker sound switches on and off at the same speed. However, when I connect the regular headset this switching stops!

Does anyone have any good advise on how to fix this?

regards,
Kjetil, Norway

this is an issue I had with one Bold 9700 and I had the phone replaced. the new one has been working fine, but just the other day it started having this same problem again... ahhhhhh - so I did something that provided a temp fix - 1) made a phone call to any number. 2) plugged in a headset. 3) clicked the menu key to activate handset. 4) then unplugged the headset. (all before hanging up the call) This has fixed the problem with the phone, except it will not go to speakerphone now. Everytime I click the speakerphone key when in a call now, it just goes to headset.

My son also has this problem on his BOL 9700 - and we just got the replacement from Tmobile today. So, it will probly fix it, but I'm really concerned that RIMM is lowering the bar on build quality... And I think it some kind of hardware/software combination issue... not sure.

RIM - PAY ATTENTION - WE DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU UNLESS YOU KICK US TO THE CURB....
