I am just wondering how to convert the images that were taken as .jpg.rem to normal .jpg

I have an scan disk mem chip with files / images from an old BB but when I put into my new BB it states encrypted and to use the old BB - which I no longer have.

Is there a way to unencrypt my jpg files which show as jpg.rem to jpg. I tried simple method of renaming to jpg but no help.

I saw a similar question searching archives but did not find an answer.

While I haven't personally tried this myself, I did find this solution to the problem on the official blackberry support forums here.

According to that thread, use your blackberry email and attach the encrypted pictures one by one and send them to one of your own email addresses (obviously so you can receive the pics you sent). Your blackberry will decrypt the pictures to send them and you should receive them in normal JPG format.

According to another thread you can also MMS the pictures to your email, and that should also work.

Turn off the encryption Options -> media card.

To make it easier just Leave the Media Card in your original BB and copy everything from the Media card to your computer... Put the media card in your new BB and format it.. Then copy everything back on it.
