Lol my family would never let me work at 7-11...
There's been like 15 robberies of fast food places and gas stations in the last two weeks... And a couple of mall shootings/stabbings...
That's in this 15mi radius that is my city too

At some point today I'm going to go up to one of the bowling allies near by and apply... If I decide I care enough lol

I really really really don't want to go back to fast food though. Major reason is I don't speak Spanish... I was pretty much forced to leave Wendy's this last time because I was the only person there that spoke English during my shifts, and I got sick of it...
But I have my own opinions on that that I wont share

One of these next few days I'll use what little gas I have in my truck to go find a job... then I have to figure out how to get there with no money :P

Lol there was one hiring about 2 weeks ago, they aren't any more..

It's very hard to find cleaners in the area, most are out of my range of where I'll drive (I have to make more than I spend in gas and all)
The only other ones I know of are over 20min away... and that's about 2 gallons of gas =) and at 3.19 a gallon... my truck is a gas hog!

Just keep popping in! Make acquaintances with the owner or manager. They have pretty frequent turn-over and you will be a shoe in! Also, offer to cover any shift or vacation for them. Even if it's just a couple of hours on the weekend. Anything to make them remember you when it's time to hire! Good Luck!

Haha...
Well this is where my aunt (my dad's sister) has fun getting involved.
My dad has his name on 3 cars...
81 3/4ton chevy - his
89 bronco - mine
93 geo storm - NOT being driven..
He WONT make it legal and let my drive it, and he wont fix the clutch in it...
So I'm more or less screwed.

My grandpa is an auto-body guy, and occasionally comes across good cars (The geo was on my dad bought FOR ME from him) I'm thinking because my grandpa hates my bronco and doesn't like my driving it, there's something in the works for either 1- my birthday or 2- when I get a diploma...
So that's kind of what I'm waiting on..
Supposedly my dad is going to get the engine finished when he comes up with $300 for the Bronco and then supposedly that'll get 15mpg... that's exciting...
There's still that stupid Geo sitting there getting 36mpg that no one is allowed to drive because he can't keep insurance on any of his cars...

I feel for you hun... I just got let go of my job due to cut backs last week... put me in a downward spiral since I have a wedding in November and things have to get paid.

But I feel your pain... you seem to be a pretty independent person... and its hard not having the means to stay independent. A lot of the suggestions in here sound great... you'd be wise to follow some... if possible.

Much luck hun!

=) Thanks

I was supposed to go and look for jobs this afternoon, but instead I ended up getting told to leave the house, and before and after that got told that I'm doing nothing with my life and that I'm not trying hard enough to finish school or get job...

So tomorrow hopefully waste my gas on looking around :P lol

I would check job websites like careerbuilder or monster for jobs in your area too, you would be surprised how many places use those sites, and it doesn't use any gas to apply for them.

What sucks is I've been looking on monster for the last like hour... and either they want a highschool diploma or equivalent, or it's like construction work...

My back would kill me if I did a construction job :P

Job at the mall.

Perfect for someone in your situation! Maybe opportunities.

As for sites like monster, craigslist, etc etc.

I really don't recommend those. Looking for a job is practically a full time job itself. There are so many people looking on monster.com, and all those job sites, those jobs are getting bombed. And most likely, the job you want, is a job everyone else wants. They'll prob never get a chance to even see your app.

But a pretty popular job I did back in high school. Video game tester. Play video games, find bugs, record it. It can be full time with over time, or part time, they are flexiable.

The lame mall here isn't hiring anything... I looked the other day..
I even asked it, "You're a mall, WHY aren't you hiring?!" It didn't answer though...

I'm pretty sure I can get just about any waitressing job I apply for... I just haven't yet because I don't really like the idea of waitressing lol! I'm about to just give in and apply for em all anyway...

Hmmm, normally around here, to be a watiress you normally have to have previous. They start you off as a host, or maybe the To Go department if they have one. Don't see too many teenage waitress. I think i've come across one who wasn't old enough to drink.

We've got a lot of little family type restaurants that always hire teens...
Dee's, Village Inn, Denny's, stuff like that... the "breakfast all day" type places.
Olive Garden, and places like that, no I can't get a job at. I have to be 21 in Utah to be a waitress in a place that serves alcohol. Other states it's 18...
