Default Nursing Programs...Recommendations?

Please Login to Remove!

I got my wife a Curve (8320) so she wouldn't need a palm and a cell phone. I am about to buy some of these drug programs, etc from handango and realized they were pretty big in size. Is it possible yet to install programs on memory cards yet? If not I am really dissappointed with the limited space available for third party programs. Especially for professionals like my wife that needs to look up drugs and calculate how much drugs to give.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good nursing programs? I noticed that Davis Drug Guide isn't available for the curve yet.

Default hmmm..

hi, i replied to your other post about memory cards and the curve and nursing software.. most of the details are there..

check out PEPID Medical Information Services for PDA, Pocket PC, Mobile Wireless & Online Use.. all-in-one clinical suite for professionals in the medical field. it's been available for palm and windows mobile for years and it's only been a few months since they released their software on the blackberry platform.. they even won awards for it..

all the other nursing software are separate and it's not integrated so it gets hectic

i'm kinda excited because i've been waiting for this.. and now it's here.. good luck.. and hopefully this helps..

epocrates is in beta on the bb. using the web browser on you bb you might be able to get it if you go to Install Epocrates Rx
otherwise i'm sure they will be out of beta soon if not already.

Check out www.skyscape.com

By far the largest and most useful collection of medical programs for multiple platforms.

I have 7 titles on my 8320. Works great.

What titles do you have on your 8320? How much memory do you have left?

The BlackBerry platform does not, at this time, support any installations of software to a memory card. (the data, sure - Mobipocket is a good example)

Thanks for clarifying that. The Skyscape "reader" is a lot like Mobipocket, it requires four small files to be installed on the device, then the titles are installed to the SD card.

BlackBerry

Q. How do I install my programs to my SD Card? A. If there is an SD card inserted into the device with enough available space at the point of installation, the programs will install to the card by default. Only the reader file is installed to the main memory. If there is not enough space on the card or if there is no card present, then the programs will install to the main memory.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the private messages sent to me. Skyscape was exactly what I was looking for. The reader is installed on the device memory (small footprint) and all the application data is stored on the memory card.

For those of you that said that this device can't replace a PDA I just wanted you to know that there is a solution.

and that you were wrong!
