Default 8700g OS is available on tmobile.com

Please Login to Remove!

OS version Handheld Version (4.1.0.284)

Download here

http://www.t-mobileapps.com/download...m?selDevice=22

Edit------
FYI
Just download and install it, edit Blackberry.alx file and I have zen theme.

Edit2------
In order to have the chinese font support, install the korean support(dunno why), and it will display the chinese page correctly.

loaded it as well, thanks for the link! I also modified the .alx file and got the Zen theme. I don't like and went back to the BB Deminsion Icon theme.

Oh wait, you have to use it a bit and get used to it and you will never want to go back.

I did not like having only 5 icons. The clear, crisp look that it offers is not all that important to me. I might try it again at a later time but for now I will stick with the Dimension Icon theme.

I might try and download some kewl backgrounds for the Zen and try it again in a few weeks! Lovin the 8700 so far. Past BB's were the 7100T, 7105, and 7290. The 8700 blows them all out of the water!

From my LIMITED use the Zen offer a nice, clean, and uncluttered look to the BB screen. The center key (between the answer and end buttons) is programmed to open a text list of programs (kind of like O2)

The main Zen screen only lists 5 small icons on the right side of the screen. You can program any 4 of the icons you want as the 5th is for the additional programs menu. The rest of the programs are accessed by activating the menu system via the icon at the bottom of the 5 icons or by clicking the center key. These additional programs pop up in text menu fashion.

Thatxxx8217;s it in a nutshell from my VERY LIMITED use.

How about teh short cuts. I was so dead against them that I got convinved to use by others. Now I never even go beyond the home screen. You would need to disable teh dial from home screen.

When I upgraded to the Bharti OS I experienced delays using the applications on the 8700C. Has anyone experienced any delays when using the device with the new OS from T-Mobile?

Hi CBR900R

Thanks for posting the download link!

The chinese font support -- is that only enabled for the browser or should I be able to see chinese characters in my e-mail as well?

Hi CBR900R

Dunno about the chinese font support for email, you might need to install the OS for the chinese input support.

As for the TMO OS, even it doesn't listed the chinese font support, it can display the chinese web page correctly, I don't have any chinese email so I cannot confirm it.

You can sent me a chinese email and I will post back here.

Thanks again, CBR900RR - you should be receiving an e-mail from me shortly! Interested in the outcome.

Although I did a quick search on "Chinese" in the RIM software forum, and found a thread that mentioned that Chinese display within e-mails is not supported as yet?!?? Can anybody else confirm/deny this?

For people like me who had been torture by the zen and 7105t combo, know what lag is. LOL

When I went on the Browser it would take longer for pages to load. Opening e-mails and attachments took longer. When I would click on the icons (Address Book, Task) it would take a couple of seconds before the application would open.

I loaded and unloaded the Bharti application on two seperate occasions and I still had the problem and when I went back to the Cinguar OS there were no delays.

This is all in the past as I installed the T-Mobile OS and everything is working great.

Thanks

I can confirm that on my 8700g, right out of the box, that my incoming e-mails displayed traditional Chinese characters no problem. I get several e-mails in Chinese a day and have had no problems displaying them. I have also done the OS "upgrade" to get the Zen theme and still have no problems displaying Chinese in my e-mails.
