Or go to our 8300 sections and follow the directions in the yellow sticky at the top. Make sure that you use an OS specifically for the the 8350.

Of course it won't.
It has no OS on it; you cannot restore a backup until you've loaded the OS.

What device do you really have? Your profile says 8100, your post says 8530i (and AFAIK there is no 8530i) and you posted in the 8300 section. Is it perhaps an 8350i? Are you using it on Telcel?

Well sir, ..... your original post says 8530 and it makes a difference which device and which carrier.

If you search using Google with your error message "Device communications error encountered. [A:0x0000000F]" you will find quite a few "hits". It appears that this is a common error with the 8350, which prompted my question as to which device you really had.

The majority of those problems appear with devices on Boost, hence the question as to your carrier.

So you see, I was just trying to get some additional information to help you find a solution.

First of all, I suggest you use Google and search on the specific error message.

One resolution I found was to delete DM from the PC and do a clean reinstall. Remove the SIM from your BB. Wipe the device with Jl_cmder (see the FAQ for more information) and then reinstall the OS (see the yellow sticky at the top of the 8300 for one specific to the 8350i).

yup googled it opened every single page i could find about the code.... but none of the other posts had a solution..it seems it is a common problem for 8350 but no one knows how to fix it...
also deleted both dm and OS and reinstalled, didnt work,
used older version of OS (4.6) didnt work either...

Maybe a dead BB?

I am out of options.

Has it been dropped or did you get it wet by any chance?
