I have a Blackberry 8320 running off a BES 4.1. There is no restriction to the number of messages set at the BES end that I am aware of, and on the Blackberry itself under Messages - Options - General Options - Actions - Keep Messages is set to Forever. So why do my emails only go back to December? What could be limiting the number of messages? Thanks!

How much free device memory do you have?

Device was activated in September 2010 and in Options xxx8211; Memory - Application Memory xxx8211; Free Space is says 6MB. Ah, is that the answer?

6mb isn't a whole lot of memory.
BlackBerry devices will begin to purge old messages when memory gets too low... to make room for new messages to arrive.
This could be happening to this particular device.

Are you certain the BES isn't set to only maintain a set number of messages or are you just guessing? There's no way you can tell from the device itself. You'd need access to the BES itself to check for sure.
