Hi All,
Can anybody help me with a problem with BlackBerry type 7100g.
The handheld freeze and shows an error on the display "Catastrophic...."

When I type INFO, more information displayed:

INTERNAL DEVICE ERROR:
Catastrophic Assertion Failure

Suspended task:
RIM_TASK_ID

v1 = 8
v2 = 0
v3 = 26

Can anyone help me to explain what this error message means? and how to fix this internal error?

Never seen that before, but sounds like you need to take the device back to your cellular carrier and get a replacement.

1. Make sure the unit is connected to your computer via USB.
2. Pull the battery out.
3. Start Blackberry Desktop Manager on your PC.
4. Put in the battery back in and quickly run "Application loader"

Blackberry Desktop Manager seems to find the the device while its booting up. Reload your apps.

It worked for me on a 7100t that was displaying "Catastrophi..."
