Default Transferring data using BlackBerry Protect

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a Z10 to replace a lost 9320. When I log in to Protect it says my data is stored. Can anyone tell me in detail the best way to use Protect to transfer my data from Protect to the Z10? I am not backed up to the Desktop software and I can't afford to lose my data.

To what data are you referring?

Backup via desktop software now. You CANNOT transfer data via BlackBerry Protect on BB10.

Ah, I re-read and saw the "lost" 9320. The OP will have to restore to another pre-BB10 device via BlackBerry Protect if that's the only place he has his data. No way around that IMHO.

Unless OP updates to 10.2, which does offer you the one time porting of any backup file you made with Protect (doesn't matter what device) After adding his BBID to his Z10, he can update, and open BB Protect and choose 'Restore' and then choose 9320 file. Should be good to go.

I was under the impression that it *should* work like that, but unfortunately it doesn't. That's just what I remember hearing though, so YMMV.
