Default Backed up files and it changed my PIN

Please Login to Remove!

So I got a new phone under warranty, and pressed the restore contact list button on the new phone. Got all the contacts and the pin number from an old blackberry phone that I gave to my girlfriend about a year ago. So now we both have the same PIN and I have all her contacts. Even her Profile image and name appear on my phone!

I know everyone says you cannot change the pin and every phone has its own pin...

Did you log in using her account?

Your device PIN is unique and cannot change. Options / Device / Device Status will show you that your BB has a new PIN.

And did the PIN change in Options / Device / Device?
CHECK CAREFULLY (as you are mistaken).

New BlackBerry = New PIN. The PIN of each BlackBerry is unique and hard-coded into the device at the factory. You cannot change the PIN on a BlackBerry, but if you get a new BlackBerry it will have a different PIN than your old one.

I think we're on the same page!
In my new blackberry, I logged in my old app world account while it was connected on my laptop via usb cord. Then all of a sudden, my new blackberry's pin changed to my old pin! It was so annoying and I don't know how to bring back the original device pin. I checked the Options and the device pin really changed. I checked my bbm profile too. Now, I cannot use my bbm! I can't add or accept requests. My old blackberry is not with me anymore for it was bought by another person and now we have the same pin. Can someone please tell me how I can restore my original blackberry device pin? It would mean a lot to me! Thanks!

The PIN is hardcoded to the device and cannot be changed.
Something else is going on.

Absolutely no way that can happen. As we have told you in your other thread
(http://www.blackberryforums.com/blac...ml#post1777343) the PIN is hard coded and unique to each device.
