Question 3rd Party Apps on WiFi Only

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sure this isn't the first forum question about this, but is there ANY way to access third-party applications (ie. Facebook, The Score, DriveSafe.ly, etc) using wifi only?

My friend that lives in the United States and is with T-Mobile was able to get something called the BlackBerry Feature Enabler. Is there anything similar to this for other networks?

Currently have the Bold 9000 on the Rogers Wireless Network. Thanks in advance!

Nope. You will need a data plan to access facebook and any other RIM app. No questions asked, no way around it, just the way it is

Wirelessly posted (The Dacia Sandero of data plan)

Adding to the previous post: you need a BlackBerry data plan. Even a regular data plan will not run RIM apps.

What exactly is the point of having wifi on my blackberry, the only single way i can use it is with Opera Mini, and even then I have to select a different option from the menu.

I've moved from Windows Mobile where i can skype by wifi, as well as surf the net, send/receive emails, use windows live, even google maps works perfecly with wifi.

Am i missing something? Maybe my Bold isnt set-up properly...

BTW i'm on UK orange, with a data plan etc etc.

srauer: WiFix by Aerize might do what you're looking for.

It is considered bad manners to hijack another's thread.

Perhaps the BB isn't the device for you? Do you have a BB data plan? And there is NO SKYPE or VoIP applocation (yet) for the BB. Use the SEARCH feature for more on SKYPE.
