Then why is it not allowed for Mod's from Pinstack to post on BlackBerryForums?
And, my guess is, that if I signed up over there I would be quickly banned. Just a guess, though.

Can't we agree to disagree. The topic is not wether pinstack is bigger than BBF. It was about getting BBSmart for free. therefore you did indeed bring this thread way off topic.

On a side note, I dont visit pinstack, I have no need to. I find everything that I need and more here. My loyalty is and will always be to BBF. Even during the down time. Just meant more work (excuse my language) was getting done.

Back on topic. Regardless of all the petty bickering, this is a GREAT deal on BBSmart.

there's a huge difference between perceived user base versus actual readers and return visitors. BBF is still the more popular site, in terms of traffic rankings, page views, etc. during the December site issues here, we dropped below Pinstack for the first time ever. BBF is now recovering from those issues and has brought statistics back to an even plateau. in another month or two, things will be back to the way they've always been.

the initial issue raised on this thread has been stated, and with less than 6 hours left EST in the day, is there really a reason to keep this open?

Oh the deal is also given at crackberry. Spend 5 bucks etc..
I was given a free license and admit I would have purchased it if I had not received it for free.

My problem is I can't decide what else to buy! I'm looking at Spanish dicts right now, or maybe a unit converter or something. Problem is I wouldn't mind a free BBSmart license but I don't really have anything I want to buy.

Suggestions? What have y'all been buying over $5 to get the deal?

Thats what I did. Bought a skin for the Pearl and got BBsmart free.

I really really like BBSmart too.

Why I waited I have no clue

I understand the idea of skins/themes from a cost perspective, but since I don't use them it'd be like throwing money away - rather have something I can use. I narrowed it down to a killer scientific calculator, an ugly-but-cheap converter, and an awesome Spanish/English lookup dict. I went with the dict:

MSDict Concise Oxford Spanish Dictionary (BlackBerry) - MobiHand Software

I installed the trial and - other than a stupid security popup on my 8320 - love it instantly. You can keep the dicts on your SD card (~8megs worth for Spanish/English), it supports online lookup, adding more dicts/languages, random word and spell check and all these other really cool features. Yeah it's $40 but it feels like some solid engineering going on here. I really love the included colloquial uses; for instance the verb 'eat' they have cool things like the Spanish for "what's eating her?" like we say in English and so forth, super handy.

(of course I got my free license of BBSmart, we'll tuck it away until the next version which supports internal fonts is released)

You know, I am SICK and TIRED of the misconception the clever marketing over there at Pinstack has provided you with.

You claim Pinstack (as well as the Pinstack website) is Larger then BBF. Please, oh please check your statistics before you make such a claim.

I unfortunately pointed my web browser to your page JUST to prove you wrong.

PinStack Total Posts: 558,214 (THIS INCLUDES FAQ Pages, as they are posted within the forum.. ours are not..)

BlackBerryForums.com Total Posts: 801,831
(Note: Our Off-Topic Section does not count towards TOTAL post counts, unlike the largest section of Pinstack)

Last time I checked, BBF is 1.4x LARGER then anything over there at that domain name and I am not even going to get into the knowledge and quality ratio of the posts...

Don't believe me that total post counts justify this as the largest of its kind? then please explain to me why the site containing the largest forums of the web, uses this as the ruler of size? (The largest Message Boards and Forums on the web!)

Still don't believe me?? Then check your Complete, and Alexa Trend Ranks.... because I am not even going to start with those..

In conclusion:
You need to remember there is NO forceful registration just to see a Post over here at BBF, nor do we try to sell you anything left right and center... so.. you can keep your 298k users, and I will keep our 160k not forced to register users, and our 100,000 active users (oh wait.. thats not even something Pinstack lists?? why may that be? why is it that the current 2000 online is not represented by vBulletin software (which has specific time outs), but rather a easily manipulated php code?

or... you can just google major search functions (like blackberry community, forum, whichever... and yet.. BBF almost always lists first)

I am done with this, you need to remember that not the user base of BBF, nor I came over to Pinstack to complain or air dirty laundry, which is why, if you post on this site, expect a response from its owner.
