Default Provisioning Wifi Profiles - HELP

Please Login to Remove!

When I try to setup my 8900 with the wireless network it says that my router supports wifi profiles, and it will provision it....and it then generates a PIN number and gives me 5 minutes to enter it on the router.

I have a LINKSYS WRT330N router....but I cannot figure out where to enter this number.

I am able to hit back in the BB menu and then connect via wifi otherwise...but I still cannot enter the number.

Can someone please explain to me, the purpose of this number, provisioning, and how I can go about getting this to work.

I appreciate your help in advance!

Open the web browser on your computer that is linked to the router. In the address bar type in 192.168.1.1
A password pop up will appear, if you have set up a user name or password, use them, if not leave the user name blank and type admin in the password.

When the router admin page opens, click at the wirless on the top menu (next to the set up).
The option 2 is what you are after, enter the code generated by your BB in there and click register.

That is exactly what I mean....there is no where to ENTER the code, or register.

I got to the menu, and I got to the "wireless" tab, where I see the following tabs

Basic Wireless Settings, Wireless Security, Wireless Mac Filter, Advanced Wireless Settings, Wireless QoS

Which one would I find the right area under?

Does anyone have this same router that I do? It's the black Linksys Gaming Router WRT330N

when you click on the wirless tab, it is the page that you see, you do not have to click on any sub menu. On mine, it is showing the box. I have same router as you (in the UK).

Just use the pre-shared key option in the wifi setup. Enter in your WEP or WPA password and it should all work.

Yea, I figured it out finally, you have to hit the back button on the phone when it asks for the provision, then it allows you to enter your router password and save.

Silly question but what is a "wi-fi profile" and what does it mean to "provision" one? I've managed to connect the 8900 to the two networks in my house using the onscreen commands which really just required the WEP password - took about 5 seconds each. THE BB didn't generate any kind of PIN for me to enter into the router settings. Is this related to the "Push Button Set-up" I see in the BB options? Or is it just something about my router (BuffaloTech)? Or am I missing some kind of QoS setting? Thanks
