Default Question - VZW Aircard vs. BB 7130e coverage

Please Login to Remove!

All:

Searched the forum and couldnt find an answer to this. Why can I have both my VZW aircard and my BB sitting side by side, and one gets coverage at EVDO and the other doesn't. I thought they used the same technology. Any help? it is pretty frustrating when I am getting emails on my bb and can't pull them up on my laptop. and yes, I need them both...

any insight?

Add tethering to the BB and use the BB as the modem.

He needs them both, and while the device is tethered, it does not act as a handheld, so no email/calendar/apps, etc.

And I'm not sure exactly why you get worse speeds on the aircard, but I can say that with Sprint, I noticed a HUGE difference in speed and reception when I upgraded from the Free Aircard they gave to one you have to pay for. If you went with the freebie, it's very possible it's just not high enough quality. There should be a diagnostics utility on the disc for the VzW Connect thing though. Try running it against the aircard to make sure it's functioning properly.

Froogle,

Thanks for the reply. I will check in with the VZW folks on this to see what they think. I do have the purchased card, but it is quite old, 1st/2nd Gen. It regularly updates when I log in, but now I am wondering. I was in a different location, but similar situation today and it repeated.
