Someone suggested I get Parallels to run windows xp side by side with mac leapord. Will this work to sync my bb thru bb desktop on windows with entourage or apple's calendar, address book etc?

I don't think so, but have never tried it. Parallels will allow you to run Desktop Manager under XP. But, I do not think that the Mac side will "see" the Blackberry and sync it to Mac programs. Have you considered a hosted BES/Exchange Server? Check out mailstreet.com. with a hosted BES, there is no need to connect the BB to sync. It syncs over the air. You can then run Entourage to connect to the hosted Exchange Server.

No, it will allow you to sync in the Windows environment with Outlook, Notes etc. To sync directly with you OS X apps ie iCal, Address Book etc. you'll require PocketMac or Missing Sync for BlackBerry by Mark/Space, the latter being the better of the two for OS X.
