Default BlackBerry Address Books...

Please Login to Remove!

I use two BlackBerrys (one for work and one for personal).

When I back up the database from the one I use the most (8520) to a PC then restore it onto the other (9300) (so that both databases are the same), Fax numbers appear in the 'Other' field in the BB I restore to. So a number in the 'Fax no.' field on the 8520 will then appear in the 'Other' field of the 9300??

Can anyone suggest a way to backup with the result of two identical databases?

I'm not sure if this is valid option for you, but you could use a Gmail account and sync the contacts through either google sync or the advanced gmail account settings.

THis way if you add /edit a contact on the 8520 it will automatically sync to the gmail account and then update the 9300 when it syncs to the gmail account.
And because both are syncing to the same gmail account the contact field mapping "should" be consistent.

I don't sync multiple devices for contacts, but I do use this option to sync a calendar to 2 BB's and a home outlook calendar. Concept should be the same for contacts.

Just a thought.

Thanks, I have tried GoogleSync type apps before and had quite a few problems. Also I don't use Outlook but restore from the ipd file directly onto the BB.

It's an odd one as it's the only problem, just Fax numbers, everything else is 100% perfect.

I have looked but I cannot see any way to change the 'contact field mapping', this is where the error seems to be...
