I am SOOOOO confused right now - Can someone PLEASE, PLEASE sum up this thread - AIM/MSN/ICQ is NOT working as I understand? What are service books? How can I get it to work?
Okay, for someone who IS working, please do the following:
- Connect your device to your PC and open Desktop Manager
- Click on Backup and Restore
- Click Advanced
- Scroll down under Device Databases and select Service Book
- Click on the left arrow to put Service Book in your Desktop File Databases list
- Click on File then Save As
- Select your Desktop from the top menu and click Save
ZIP that file up and then post it as an attachment in this thread. This will enable some of us w/o T-Mobile to use the services as well. Thanks.

and there is the problem....TMO has em, and cingular does not...
I have T-Mobile and neither AIM nor MSN work for me. I am on 8700g. I also downloaded AIM on someone's Pearl at work with T-Mo and they got the go visit the page for service books message as well.
I also have T-Mobile, and when I clicked on the Download link for AIM, I got the dreaded "your device is not currently supported" message. (I sent Service Books prior to trying to download)
