AMAZING Battery from the 9780! Totally impressed!
Please Login to Remove!
Here's the deal, last night I forgot to charge my 9780....so I woke up this morning at around 11 AM and noticed that the battery level was 40%.
Didn't have time to charge it as I was going on a picnic to another city with my GF.
So we headed out, I was constantly on BBM, had a 20 minute phone call while driving on the way, I was constantly taking photos which I have posted in another thread BTW.
I got home at 19:00 (almost 7 hours later), and the battery life was still 20%
This is by far, the best battery I have had on a phone, not only a BB, but on any other phone!
That's what a BB was made for. To USE IT!
and the 9780 can do that easily! No need to turn off 3G, put the brightness down, or do anything, my phone is stock with no options tampered with.
Running OS 294

I can sort of relate to this. Battery life is much better than the 9700. However be warned suddenly without warning my phone battery just diminished today on the 9780. It is the same battery I think they've made the phone more power efficient I guess.

I disagree. I have both - and there seems to be no difference in battery life at all, running OS6 on both.

Re: AMAZING Battery from the 9780! Totally impressed!
I've had situations where the reporting of available battery remaining appeared inaccurate on prior BB devices and you sometimes see a sudden unexpected drop in pct battery remaining. My theory is that this is usually a problem with how the device reports remaining battery (wrong pct).

Re: AMAZING Battery from the 9780! Totally impressed!
My 9700 Battery has always been pretty good! I never turn of 3G... However, after a week of using my 9700 with a leaked version of 6.0, I have to say my battery has been even better then usual. And to be honest, I've been using it a lot more the last week or so! My 9700 battery trumps my 9800 in Battery life as well.

Curve battery was always very good though and Storm was a bad phone all around, sadly.

Re: AMAZING Battery from the 9780! Totally impressed!
I, too am very impressed with the battery life on my 9780. Mind you, my 9700 did a very decent job on battery life as well.
I am running Bluetooth all day, always in 3G mode, BBM, email, calls throughout the day that come out to about 90-120 minutes per day at least (usually more) and still have plenty of power left in reserve at the end of a long day. I am very happy with it.

9700 + 9780 has the same battery guys. The 9780 blows the 9800 out of the water when it comes to the battery life and keyboard :D

You must have had a worn battery in your 9700. There's no difference between the two. I have and am running both

Very true, if one is having an issue with the 9700's battery it probably is a bad one. The 9780 and 9700 have the same excact battery

My 9700 battery is getting tired, and the life is shorter and shorter ... this has happened with every BB I have ever owned. I hope I have a positive battery experience to share at some point in the future as well.

When you get your next BB, make sure to never allow the battery life to fall below 20% as that will kill it.

I have to agree. The battery life is pretty impressive compared to the other devices of Blackberry. Hopefully it will stay this way .

Re: AMAZING Battery from the 9780! Totally impressed!
I'm very impressed with the battery life of the 9780. I leave Wi-FI and Bluetooth on all the time, and the phone gives me at least 3 or 4 days of standby time (all the while the emails are arriving...)
Way to go RIM, this is a much appreciated product improvement.

Hmm, you know that's interesting. Some batteries are like that. Is there some way to refresh a dead or old battery on a Blackberry like there is on some batteries?
