Hi all,

I am a very very rookie BES Admin (I hate even using that term). I have SBS 2003 with BES 4.14(the OLD OLD express). I am currently the only user.

I am looking at upgrading to the new BESx. Is there a consice guide anywhere detailing how to uninstall the old one and adding the new one back? I am affraid to dive right in for fear of hosing my install.

What I'm really scared of is the SQL issues. When you say wipe I am assuming you are talking about a complete wipe of the blackberry itself?? Has anyone had any luck with deleting the desktop servicebooks??

Since I am only dealing with one BB user currently, can I just uninstall BPS and reinstall BESX. Wipe my blackberry and all will be good????

In that case, I would not upgrade, but delete your BES installation and start from scratch with BESX5. Like this, you have a clean install.

After der BESX5 install, wipe your BB device and activate. That's it.

Will deleting my current BES also delete the sql databases???

Can I keep the same besadmin account??

A New OS install isn't an option right now.

You have to manually delete it.
If not running anything else on SQL uninstall it as BES express will put in SQL express 2005.

Yes you can keep BESAdmin for the new install.

It is only one DB and it is called BESMgmt (if the standard name has been kept).
